Waiting List
Waiting List Process
Please read in order to get an understanding of how the choosing process works once the puppies have arrived!
-
In order to join our Waiting List a nonrefundable deposit must be submitted to hold your place in line. To learn more about our deposits, click here.
-
A "short list" will be created for each expecting litter (expecting meaning we know there are puppies due to be born soon, not a planned litter.) You will be contacted and asked if you are interested in the upcoming litter, and if you are, your name will go on a short list that is only kept by Novel Siberians and not displayed on the website like the normal Waiting List; if you are not interested in the upcoming litter and say no, your place on the Waiting List will not be affected in any way and you will not be contacted when the litter is born. If you join a short list for an upcoming litter, you are NOT obligated to choose a puppy from that litter unless there is a puppy you are actually interested in, you are free to pass on any puppy that does not interest you and keep your same place on our Waiting List. If you did not join a short list but see a puppy later that you are interested in, you can still choose that puppy once we have made our way all the way through our short list.
-
Novel Siberians always reserves the right to first pick of any litter we produce, whether that be for a stud service agreement, a puppy trade in the works, or just keeping a puppy for ourselves. We will not always take first pick of every litter, but we will exercise this right when needed. First pick is never "for sale" and is never guaranteed to anyone.
-
Puppy picks are made in the order deposits have been received, and names will appear in that order on our Waiting List. Since our dogs are co-owned, the list you see on our website is not all-inclusive, as our co-owners keep their own Waiting Lists, however, ALL puppy picks will be made in the order deposits have been received.
-
The first person on the Waiting List (#1) has 24 hours after puppies are born and photos are posted to make their decision to pick their puppy or pass on the litter; we will reach out to everyone to let them know when a litter has been born, and you will be told when puppy picks begin. We begin at #1 for each new litter that is born, if we have multiple litters due around the same time, there may even be some overlap between puppy picks. (Note: Puppies' eyes are closed when they are born; eyes do not open until around 2 weeks old. Eye color is never guaranteed. Eye color can change throughout the next several weeks and even months. We do puppy picks at birth and therefore cannot determine eye color; if eye color is the only factor you are considering when choosing a puppy, we may not be the right breeder for you.)
-
You do not need to wait for your turn in line to pass! If you know there are no puppies you are interested in from a litter after it is born, or at any time during the process the puppy (or puppies) you wanted are taken, please just let me know you would like to pass so I am not bombarding you with messages about puppy picks that you no longer care about.
-
If a decision is not made by the 24 hour required time limit, you automatically forfeit your place in line and the pick moves on to the next person on the list. If you forfeit your chance to pick a puppy during your turn you must wait until we have made our way through the whole list before coming back to your name, IF there are still puppies listed as Available (Unclaimed on Facebook) in any litter currently accepting reservations; if you're no longer interested in picking a puppy, you can forfeit your deposit all together. We do not want to make others further down the list wait any longer than necessary, so when the time comes for puppies to be due, staying in contact with us is very important!
-
We will update everyone on the Waiting List as picks are made, so please check your messages regularly; failure to do so may result in your name being skipped! The 24 hour decision window is only applicable for the first picks of a new litter; if we have a puppy come up as Available because the hold on it was released, we will make our way through the Waiting List again, picking up where we left off with only those who did not already pass on the puppy and it will be up to our discretion as to how long we will allow each person to make a decision; the older a puppy is that has become Available, the shorter the decision window will usually be.
-
If you decide that you would like to purchase more than one puppy but have only placed one deposit, you may pick another puppy only after everyone else on the Waiting List has made their pick, and if there are any puppies that are left Available. We will only hold a second puppy for you for 24 hours! During that time another nonrefundable deposit will be required to hold the puppy, otherwise it will be listed as Available. If you have already submitted two deposits, you will make your pick in the order your deposits were received, as usual. WE DO NOT HOLD PUPPIES WITHOUT A DEPOSIT!
-
After a puppy has been chosen it will be Reserved (NOT FOR SALE on Facebook). If you back out on a puppy after it has turned 6 weeks old, or have to return a puppy after already taking it home, your deposit will be forfeited and you will not be added back to our Waiting List; there are no refunds on deposits.
-
If for any reason you discontinue communication with us any time after your puppy has turned 6 weeks old, and attempts to contact you have been ignored or unsuccessful for 3 consecutive days, we reserve the right to relist your puppy as Available and you will forfeit your deposit and any additional moneys paid up until that point will be returned at our discretion. The last 2 weeks of a puppy's time here with us should be used to coordinate pickup or travel arrangements and if we cannot get in touch with you to do so, we will find someone else more invested in bringing the puppy home.
-
The full purchase price is due by or before the puppy turns 8 weeks old. If the full amount is not received by the time the puppy turns 8 weeks old, you automatically forfeit your deposit, any additional moneys you put toward the puppy will be returned (if you can be reached), and the puppy will be re-listed as Available. If you are shipping your puppy, the full purchase price must be paid by the time your puppy turns 8 weeks old or at least 3 business days before the travel date, whichever is sooner. A puppy being shipped will not leave our possession to go with a transporter unless it has been paid in full. You are responsible for paying any deposit required to secure the transport and pay the shipper upon delivery, unless full payment for shipping is due at the time of pickup in which case you would need to send the shipping cost to us no later than 3 business days prior to the pickup date or pay the shipper in full prior to pickup.
-
Once the full purchase price has been received the puppy will be SOLD. Puppies need to be picked up or shipped by 8 weeks old, and no later than 9 weeks old; puppies without pickup arrangements made by 8 weeks old will be charged a $10 per day kenneling fee up until the puppy is 9 weeks old, at which time if your puppy has not been picked up, your deposit and any additional moneys paid will be forfeited and the puppy will be re-listed as Available. Keep this in mind when you make a commitment to a puppy, we post dates of when they will be 8 weeks old and ready to leave! If you are shipping your puppy the pickup or flight details will be coordinated with you and no kenneling fees will be incurred unless a more timely pickup date with a similar cost is refused by you.
-
Puppies that are returned to us after leaving our home are subject to a refund at our discretion; deposits will not be refunded as they are always nonrefundable.
-
Your name will remain on our Waiting List until you either choose a puppy or your deposit expires.
